Quality Assurance/Tester:
Summary: Primary responsibility for the QA effort by providing rigorous testing of all company developed software applications
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage test activities, create detailed test plans, create test matrices, and define test cases
- Perform product testing, track defect status, and certify product quality and performance.
- Conduct periodic reviews of software issues and defects for multiple products.
- Configure test environments on multiple platforms.
- Integrate quality assurance process with Agile Scrum process.
- Debrief testing results with software engineers and ensure resolution of all issues.
- Report and track problems by providing reproducible test cases.
- Learn new tools and techniques to automate software testing.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts in conjunction with new software releases.
- Develop and maintain software quality processes
Qualifications:
- Domain knowledge of Healthcare IT
- A general understanding of the business and technical environment within the healthcare industry
- Understanding of EHR systems and the concept of an HIE
- Healthcare Integration project experience, including HL7v2, HL7v3, IHE
- Basic understanding of HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment with aggressive schedules.
- Must be a fast learner, self-motivated, team player, and collaborator.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Must be detailed –oriented and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Direct work experience with SDLC processes
Technical Background
- Experience with both manual and automated testing techniques and tools.
- Knowledge of web services.
- Knowledge of SOAP/XML based protocols.
- Experience with open-source unit testing framework (Junit).
- Experience with source code control systems.
- Experience in creating and executing functional test plans and test cases.
- Experience with Issue Resolution Tools (JIRA)
- Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle.
Education and Experience:
- B.S. in computer science or related field, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years working experience working within the software development industry
Language skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
